Help needed

Hi all

My first post here.

Just about to buy a 2000 X5 4.4 but need to ask a few questions.

1. i have noticed that in reverse gear i hear a really high pitched noise from the rear (sounds like the rear sensor) this goes away 5 seconds after you drive off. Looking at the back of the car one of the sensors has kind of fallen off. has anyone experienced this before?

2. What do i need to look out for on this cars?

:welcome: Welcome aboard.

First I suggest you take a look at the articles posted on this site. Click on Articles or Home above and browse through the repository of information about the X5.

The PDC sensors have been known to fall out of the clip. It hasn't happened to me yet... You should be able to get it back in there easily. Someone who has done this will chime in and advise you.

Again, welcome to the 'hood.

I recall one being alot of electrical problems. It was the first year of their production and typically those are not the best years.
