A/C cold air

I have a 2001 X5 3.0. The A/C has recently stopped blowing cold air while at a stop. The air still blows but it gets to be warm. The air has gotten progressively warmer (yet still somewhat cold) while driving. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

It sound like you need to replace the final stage resistor. Its easy to do, just do a search in this forum.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the FSR needed to be replaced when the fan stopped blowing air all together. Mine blows air just fine except when I come to a stop the air turns warm?????

Okay. Sorry I wasn't reading well enough. I'd try give you another solution but that might be something you already know. So good luck.

Check your radiator fan if its working. If its not check the relay that switches the fan on and off assuming of course that the freon level is adequate.

The FSR probably has a number of effects on the HVAC system. I would check with what George said to start, but be ready to order the FSR from AZ-auto.
If I were you, I would do a complete overhaul of the engine and fix everything. Just kidding J.

I would have the free-on (even though BMW's don't use free-on but they use a different chemical) re-filled. Mine did that last year. Been workin fine ever since.
