P0455 Check Engine Light
Went from NOVA to Richmond (90 miles). Right when I got to Richmond the light turned on. Drove back to NOVA anyways. Car runs good. Even got 24.2MPG with my 2001 V6. Anyways, anyone know what this code means? 02 sensor? |

heh... the gas cap wire was being pinched by the cap.
I took it out. Hopefully the check engine light will go off when I drive it now. |

A knowledgeable BMW tech, (or any auto tech for that matter), will know exactly what you are talking about when you mention "smoke my EVAP system." This is the best way to find your leak. |

-Not sure if it is your gas-cap wire, but it's possible -"Large" EVAP leaks, in my experience, tend to be a worn/faulty gas cap -If recently you have filled your gas tank while keeping the X5 idling, that would most definitely trigger codes -As mentioned already, you can have your codes reset and see if the codes/CEL/SES light comes back on. |
