What do these sockets do?

In the back of my 2003 X5, there are a few toys for the passengers. The AV in and out 3.5mm jack? Is this an Ipod type input (and why have an output). Does the Sat/Nav system have an AUX input?

And a TV button. What does that do? Change channel or something?

Thanks in advance (again).

Kev

Maybe we're missing an optional cable in the boot to allow AUX input ?

Tried the same but no AUX in mode options of the stereo (just CD,Radio and Tape). Oh well...

At least it's something less to buy and wire if it is just an option cable

Cheers, Kev

Hi

Yes if you have a tv tuner as part of the head unit you can select aux

It works on mine

The tv button also changes buttons on my tv tuner

Hope that helps

Thanks for the info but my TV works fine and the TV button changes the channels, but there is no AUX as I skip through the modes. Maybe you have that special cable ?

Actually i'm sure theres an AUX channel on the TV. Try going from channel 1 and go down, i'm sure there was an AUX that came up. Will have a look tonight

Hi

Sorry for delay in getting back - been away with the kids on school holidays

Yes when I change channels up or down on the tv tuner, by turning the right hand knob, when I get to the end there is an AUX channel. TThat is, I dont use the mode button to get to AUX

Thats where/how you need to set it to

Hope that helps

Thanks matey ! I'll have a look tonight. Ordered some tv-in-motion and stereo aux leads too but this should complement them hopefully ...
