Lexus does not make any SUVs which are able to actively compete with BMW's offerings at this time. Do not waste your time and money.

The Japanese offer higher quality products, as in reliability and build quality. However, in terms of engineering, innovation, styling, performance, and overall execution, they will continue to play catch-up for some time, IMO.

Yup, it's a dressed-up 4Runner.

Isn't that a Prado? Do you guys get Toyota Prado there? So It'd be like the Toyota Landcruiser equivalent of LX470.

It is the Prado, which we do not get in the states. The 4-Runner is built on a truck platform (body on frame?) while the Prado is more of a car-like ride (unit body?). Regardless, we do not have the Toyota version of the GX here in the states. It is a great truck with high off-road abilities, but the back end is awkward, tailgate opens to the side, and on road performance cannot touch the X. It was on my list when shopping just a few months ago.
