Smile hi everybody - new member

Had my new X5 4.8 for a few weeks now and thought it was about time to join the forum.

I went for the Le Mans Blue and love it - even after 1 flat tyre and a niggle with gear box. When i put the car in manual mode the upchange is very stiff. Spoke to the dealer and happy that they'll sort it out during the next service.

I'll try and get some pictures when it's clean, but finding it hard to keep the sand off. Had a crazy sand storm the other day.

Cheers!!

Welcome. I am new here too.

This is a great forum. You'll enjoy and be enlightened.

How does the X5 operate in the heat? Just curious because I'm taking mine to Palm Springs in a couple of weeks (110F) for the weekend for some R&R in the desert.

Since I've had the X5 it's been over 110F everyday I think and I've had no problems at all. The AC's been working fine and keeps the car nice and cool, but there's not been much use for the heated seats that still get fitted. Once the engine is up to temp I've never seen the guage move - no sign of any heat problems.

Enjoy your trip.

Welcome to your new home! Go park your X in front of that mega expensive hotel that all the stars stay at out there (cant remember the name), and post them up!

You live in the UAE and dont have a white car?! You must stick out wherever you go, huh?!

Hello there - welcome aboard. The X5 seems to have good insulation from outside temps compared to other vehicles I've owned. The cabin cools down quickly and stays cool without needing to run the AC really high even on 100* days. Privacy glass and tint is a great AC helper of course.
See you around.
