If you want daytime running light, the dealer will have to program your car to do so, but it will only light the inner halogens (your dealer may charge you a service fee).

#6 - It's possible to reprogram your locks to not automatically lock (it's programmed to a specific key), but again, your dealer may charge you for this. My advice to you is have your dealer program only ONE key, this way, you have to option to have auto-lock or NO auto-lock simply by picking the proper key (in case you change your mind later about the feature).

#7 - The X will support any OEM setup from 17"-20" (up to 22s for non-OEM). See my previous reply for caveat for going to 20s and beyond. Although, I went from 17s to staggered 19s without noticing too much power loss, but the gain on stability and cornering abilities was very much worth the trade off, not to mention the looks that come with the bigger paws.
Since the Xenons have been staying on during the morning drive with sufficient ambient light I've started to notice that there are many others with the same issue. It would appear to be a factory setting. Meanwhile, it's not isolated to the bimmers. Hmmm.

Although curious to know how many drive with running lights on and if anyone can provide any insight into how long the Xenons typically last with normal usage.

Right exactly..the weight..also, the cornering abilities and looks are definitely worth the trade off just like dkl said...I have 275/40/20 on mine.

I had stock rims in my 02 E53 X5 3.0d euro version. A few months ago, I decided to upgrade to 19's and Toyo Proxes tyres of 255 / 50 / 19. Comfort and ride did not suffer even with the heavier rims. Looks even meaner since I got the hyperblack rims to match my Titanium silver body.

Funny smell in the heater is covered. http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e70-forum/...ighlight=smell.

All i did was type the word "smell" in the search feature. That same method will work for "Daytime running lights"

When you get to that page some of the other things you ask about will be found as well. Good hunting and have fun.
