Indy in DC Metro for Oil Change or DIY Oil Change?
I am at 6300 miles and I am thinking an oil change is in the horizon. Since this would not be under the free maintenance plan, I am wondering if anyone knows of a good indy shop in Northern VA or DC which would change the oil? Going to a stealer seems to be too expensive.... Alternatively, if anyone in the area changes their oil themselves, I am willing to watch and learn! I have a small condo right now, which does not present the best place for changing oil, but I am totally willing to come out to your place..... Thanks in advance!

You can also go to Curry's automotive in Ashburn, Sterling or Falls Church. They used to service my old E36 M3 and I heard they do good jobs for the X as well.

Midwesterner,
Do you have a parking space at your facilities. Check out the DIY articles. Changing the X is a breeze. Unless you're not too limber or have a Budweiser gut, the X had plenty enough clearance to drain the oil from underneath without needing jackstands, rhino ramps, etc. |

It's not difficult to DIY on the X5. I suggest you do it yourself to save time and money.
