Bluetooth standard on 2006 X5?

Hi, I have a 2006 X5 4.4i with the sport and premium package and NAV. Does the car also come standard with bluetooth ready to pair and go? Thanks!

yes.

You'll need to find the 4 digit pairing PIN (which if not written in the manual is located on the module, in the trunk under the Nav DVD controller)

Pairing the phone is a nightmare. The instructions are retarded. It only talks about having an 'eject box'. Where is the pairing button if you dont have an eject box? A real moron wrote the pairing instructions...

Look if I can do it, a dog with a note in it's mouth can do it (woof woof)

There is NO pairing button.

Step 1: Make sure cell phone in Add New Device/Discover mode
Step 2: Turn car key to position 1, and place phone near dash.
Step 3: Phone should "discover" car (My phone read BMW33XXXX)
Step 4: Input PIN code (as I mentioned before, it is either in manual or on the actual module in the left rear of trunk)
Step 5: Hit Accept
Step 6: DONE !!!

There is no eject box in my car. And I (the guy voted least technical in class), was able to do it successfully.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

ED

Thanks for the reply, I did as you told and SOMETIMES the phone would find the BMW module, it said BMWXXXXXX and when I clicked connect, only SOMETIMES would it even ask me for the pin, other times it would say unable to connect. uggg!

The phone is a nokia N95, its their latest, biggest baddest model out and can surely do something simple like this so its not the phone. The BT on the phone works fine with my other 4-5 bluetooth devides like laptop, desktop, headset etc. I deleted all those pairings from the phone too and it still does the same thing. Any ideas?

Don't give up. Just keep trying when it ask you for the pin don't dilly dally. Put in the pin......Done.

A lot of this stuff is phone related. The BMW is just looking for a handshake. When that happens it ask you for your pin. Enter it then the rest is phone related. Usually you just say done on the phone and something in your phone will tell you if your bluetooth is on.

This sux. I took it to the dealer and it paired with the service guys razr and iphone. I tried my NOKIA N95 (awesome phone) and it does NOT pair. I tried my old school NOKIA 6280 and it DID pair. This is bull$hit! Spend $60K on an X5 and $600 on a phone and they dont work. So BMW will make low end phones compatible with the module but not the big bad ones. Pathetic!
