Will Non-Adaptive headlight fit on Adpative headlight car? (not replacing core xenon)
In other words, can I get part 63126940167 (left) and 63126940168 (right) instead of 63126940181 (left) and 63126940182 (right)? I am aware that I would lose the adaptive capability if it fit and I'm only replacing the headlight. If I understand correctly, the actualy xenon lamp (ballast aka core) and Halgoen high beams/angel eyes don't come with the headlight assembly? |

I'm sure the lighting will work. You'll just lose the adaptive xenon.

So 1 yes and 1 no. I would hate for the OBC to complain each time I start the car.

I never got a straight answer. The prices are $960 versus $620 for the non-adaptive, and if you go on ebay they can be had for $150. Here is what Morristown says via email:

sorry...THREAD JACK
What if it was the other way? Does anyone know if its possible to use adaptive headlights into a non adaptive equipped x5? Just wondering if its possible to have functional headlights just not have the adaptive feature hooked up. Some friends have said its going to work, but has anyone ever done this?

I replaced my adaptive in my 2005 with non adaptive lights. No problems.
