What year is the X? 16mpg with careful driving seems pretty low..I usually get around 19-21. How many miles on it? Oil change maybe?!

Mine gets 18 according to the OBC, also has 60k miles. Just had an oil change a month ago and gas mileage did not change any.

Are you referring to you headlights coming on everytime you start the car? This is an option with the keyfob memory. Ask you BMW dealer to change the settings so lights dont automatically come on when you start. They can do this. Usuall factory default is off.. but your setup my be set to active.

Just a thought. Is your car calibrated for UK Gals if you imported it. US Gal is smaller than a UK Gal.

I have a 2005 3.0D Sport with auto headlights and auto wipers amongst the list of toys. Sensor for both is inside the windscreen on the back of the mirror mounting and sits against the inside of the glass.

A U.S mile is the same as a U.K mile (imperial mile) which is 1.6 km. What I think the problem might be is the gas / catalyst converter. I don't think the gas in Europe is the same as in the U.S, in fact I am pretty sure of it... I took delevery of a BMW at the Munich Factory years ago for import in the U.S and the catalys converter was changed upon arrival to meet the U.S standard. The car might have to be reprgramed as well, to match the U.K petrol.
