No its not hardwired. I intend to slip the car adapter inside the ac vents for a clean no wire look. Currently, the GPS runs on battery good for 4 hours but I think this will be a problem on long trips so I will plug the car adapter and try to hide the wires.

Also I used a bracket i bought in Bestbuy made by Bracketron for $30 used for Satellite radios and Ipods:

here's a pic

I cut it a little bit, mounted by GPS mount to the bracket w/c come with small bolts and screws, angle it nicely and slipped it in between the top portion of the ac vents. Its very secure and doesn't bobble up and down and it still allows me to make full use of my vents.

Here's a similar mounting option for a Garmin nuvi. Courtesy of Blackbeauty:

Something else I liked on our trip is you can go to the gps info screen to see your altitude. Check this picture taken on top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire:

Good to know Elric I'm still discovering new things about this device so far I'm having fun.

cool I was just looking at this and I think I'll purchase it.

Any day pictures or pictures taken from the side?

The reason I didn't go ahead with the purchase already was because of mounting issues, but it seems you have taken care of that.
Looks sweet.

Its very slim from the side similar to the Nuvi if not slightly slimmer (less than 1 inch thickness) and light as well. A colleague of mine thought that it was a small flat screen TV.LOL
