Finally...just about finished modding my X5!! - See pictures

Well guys, I think I am just about finished modding my X5. I got absolutely no looks before when my car was stock. Since I put on the 20's w/running boards people started taking notice of the car. But ever since I put on the 4.6 body kit...WOW I am getting crazy looks on the X. People are actually slowing down or speeding up to get a better look.

Here is a list of what I have done:

1. Replaced non sport headlights/tailights to clear sport versions, clear brake lamp. Replaced most bulbs to clear amber bulbs
2. Replaced OEM steering wheel with M5 steering wheel
3. Hardwired radar detector
4. Installed first aid kit
5. Chrome exhaust tips
6. Installed staggered 4.6 replica 20 inch wheels
7. Installed aluminum running boards
8. Installed AC schnitzer pedal set
9. Installed 4.6 Body kit front and rear aprons.

Possible things to do for the future:
1. Install 4.6/4.8 gauge cluster ...price for part around $475
2. Install 4.8 oval exhaust ... price around 1k for both dual mufflers
3. Angel eyes

CONGRATULATIONS.Really nice mods.Really good taste!Very similar mods to my 3.0d.That M5 steering wheel would look a lot better with M5 aluminium rings in the cluster!Just a tip!

powers1 thanks for the tip.
Have you installed the M5 cluster without any problems. Do you have any pictures?

The only difference I see from the M5 cluster compared to the 4.6/4.8 cluster is the M logo. I actually like the M logo makes it stand out a bit more.

Has anyone successfully installed the M5 cluster on there X? I know the temperature and RPM lights will not work which is something I can live with. From what I understand everything else works fine.

Hi Drew,
I just meant the aluminium rings around the gauges!!!!Something which was copied from the M5.I personally dont like the "M" logo on the X5 as it out of character! Its meant for cars like the "M5" or my M3!The schnizter pedals are ok since Schnitzer are the No.1 Bmw tuner and the pedals do look classy.

If you want just the aluminium rings,I got mine from www.Bavarienmotorwerks
and these are very good quality and they just snap in to place tightly (no need to cut the cluster!)
Like you,I am also fitting the 4.8 exhausts.........

Thanks guys.

The pictures do not do this justice vs. seeing it in person. I will try to get better pictures.
I forgot to add that I also added the titanium trunk bar and the titanium mirror rings. Seems to better match my aluminum boards.

I was at the right place at the right time when I got my first aid kit. I got my sport headlights on ebay in almost new condition from a reputable seller. After speaking to him on the phone, it turned out he had a few other items that he did not list on ebay...such as first aid kit and BMW clear bra protection for the X5.
I guess thats another thing I need to get done. Anyone know any reputable installers in the northern NJ area for the clear bra?

After thinking about this a little more, I think I will keep my OEM cluster. I like the MPG needle and not ready to give that up for a non funtional Oil pressure gauge. Not to mention the cost and labor involved to make the transition. I will go with powers1 suggestion and just get the rings.

As far as I know the M5 cluster RPM lights will not work.
