Temp Gauge Always 1/4. Rarely 1/2
Even after a long roadtrip the temperature reading shows 1/4 rather the the "normal" 1/2.
Is this normal? Yes, sorry for all the threads. My car is old and used goods. |

I would think that is not normal, even in cold temperatures as the engine will heat up and reach at least normal operating temperature, which should be like you said slighly less then 12 o'clock on this guage. Maybe your t-stat is (going) bad, though I have only seen ones permanently pegged after overheating. Have you done a 60K lately?

The gauge should read just short of the 1/2 way mark. Probably a faulty thermostat.

I had exact same situation as you had. Have you replaced your Thermostat and fixed the problem?
