Heated seat problem

I'm having a problem with the driver heated seat. When I first press the button, it will go on, then about 20 seconds later it will turn off by itself. If you repress the button, it will go on again, and then turn off, then it will stay off even if you press the button, but after a while if I press the button it will go on and turn off after about 20 seconds. Sometimes I get lucky and it stays on and works fine. I'm not sure what the problem could be, the passenger seat works perfectly. Anybody come across a problem like this ?

Yes, common problem.

Bottom half of the seat needs to be replaced with a new one with heated seats.

time for sport seats, lol. Get a set of e46 sport seats. Take out your heating elements and put them in the e46 seats. It will be cheaper than buying new seat covers from BMW
