2001 e53 battery drain problem

Hi does anyone have an e53 wiring diagram??

Ive got a 6 amp drain on the battery when in sleep mode. Ive traced it to (I think) under the dash. I thought it was the hedgehog (heater sat) but I think Ive disconnected it and it still drains.

the drain happens even when ALL fuses are out; and Ive disconnected the alternator

driving me mad! Any help appreciated

Here's a link to an online wiring diagram. You must use Internet Explorer 5.0 or later to access it (not Firefox).

I hope it helps

There's a tsb for the 01's regarding this issue. The radio is most likely causing the drain.

Question Most Interested in results

HELP>>>>I have an 03 X-5, 3.0 that drains a full charged battery in under 6 hours even in sleep mode...it's, unfortunately, intermittant. Had it at the shop for two days....nothing....next day AM 8:30 AM good....1:30 PM...dead. Has a new alternator and new battery....mechanic can't find the drain....Any ideas? Only thing I've done was change the brake bulb in the back and once used the ipod adapter in the cigarette lighter....At night once I heard clicking noises in the side view mirrors, moved them w/the switch and they stopped (yup, battery still dead in the morning). The fan likes to run for a while (I guess it's the auxillary fan) but no other activity that is noticeable.

Getting tired of jumping the X-5,
Sweetrl

I don't know what to tell you. You might want to make a thread regarding the WD function. I'm not able to see the diagrams either.

Sweetrl its your heater sat trade name hedgehog, £58 + vat under the centre console, looks like an aluminium porcupine; causes the fans to run in the night etc etc when shorting

Hi Mark:

This link pops right up for me. You may want to try copying it into the address bar but it should work fine (don't you love it when someones says that).

Here it is again http://www.xoutpost.com/e53wd.php

Good luck
