Lightbulb BEST Battery

Just wondering what the best battery is for the X? Can I get something thats slightly more powered that the original?
I was looking at a Varta Gel AGM Ultra Dynamic Battery
12V 95Ah
(Varta DIN: 595 901 085)

Specifications
Voltage - 12V
Capacity - 95Ah
CCA(EN) - 850A

I've heard of the brand, but we don't see them stateside...
good specs and I'm a fan of AGM batteries; use them on
my Scoots and in my Vette. Make sure the dimensions
are on the mark.

The dimensions of the VARTA battery are 353x175x190mm
if anyone knows the size of the original can you please let me know to see if this will fit ok.

S,
Probably from the same site you are gazing at:

http://www.varta-automotive.com/pmd/...=5959010853332

Dunno the exact size dimensions for your 4.6, but someone will...
my guess is that good of a site with very specific batts. for each
X5 engine model has the size down pat.

Thanks for that David, thats a much better site you provided, than the one I was using, more specifc. Must have a search now in the UK/N.Ireland to see where I can pick one.

De nada, mi amigo!

When you do cop a new one, I rec'd running it on a trickle or, very
low amp charger for a day or two; it will slowly bring it right up to
max charge. Hard to resist dropping the new one in, but worth the
slow charge, in my experience.

I'll take your advise on that, whats the best method of going about a trickle charge? I have quite a basic charger that has 12V & 6V output with Hi and Low charge.

That battery is also listed here (if you're in the UK):

http://www.carbatteryshop.co.uk/mb-7...l-01-I142.html

Would like to know how you get on with it if you do. Looking for a replacement for my 4.8is.

hvisser4 I noticed it on that site myself, but going to try and get it in N.I first failing that I'll try them. The same battery will suit your 4.8 also.
