What size wheels and where do you live? If you have lower profile tires and are in a cold climate you will get a vibration when it is cold from the tire flat spoting slightly over night. This will disipate once the tires ahve warmed up. Nitrogen in your tires will cure this.

I have this problem during summer time too, though.

Where are you experience the vibrations? The engine is a bit more coarse in the morning no doubt, but it should not cause the body to shake. Otherwise, is it the transmission shifting rough?

I had exactly the same it turned out to be the viscous fan the bearing had gone but it was still functioning. The only problem was that i didn't realise until the fan blades shattered puncturing my hood and both rads but hey now i have no vibration first drive of the day!!

I have had this issue (mainly felt thru the steering wheel) from the beginning. It only happens within the latter part of first 5 to 7 minutes of driving and only while I'm standing still at a signal. Then it goes away after that. But it's not an every day occurance.
Have i narrowed it down? Nope. I keep thinking that it's a pump that goes on for a short period maybe for the rear shocks but that makes no sense. So i have ignored it and have decided to benefit from a nice very light hand massage which only occurs some of the time.

Do you feel it in the steering wheel?

I haven't replaced my waterpump yet, it's still at 67k miles. Could it be a water pump? Circulating the water around the engine is a big factor, isn't it?

Mate i would bet my bottom dollar on it being the bearing in the viscous fan coupling breaking down causing the vibration.

I very highly doubt the fan bearing causing a vibration that can be felt in the cabin. They will just make a noise.
If it's through the steering wheel, a plausible explanation is that you're just experiencing the vibration until the ps fluid is up to temp. |
