Daytime Running Lights on a 2002 BMW X5

I just bought a 2002 BMW X5 3.0L from Texas. I live in Canada. I have a question about daytime running lights. We are required to have these on in Canada. I have done some research and I am confused. Is it true that in order to turn on the Daytime Running lights, all I have to do is take it to the dealer and they will turn the option on, I don't need any relays or modules???

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Correct. Your dealer may charge you for doing it.

Interestingly, the wattage/lumen output was slightly different for
the US "sold" cars vs the CDA "sold" cars; that may have changed
recently for standardization and, not that anyone is going to notice
the difference if it still remains.

I realize ya'll have them up there in the GWN, but as a M'cycle rider
I am not a big fan of DRLs as we get lost in the sea of lights.

NEway, inane trivia for today, lol!
