I just dont understand how it is not a wise descision because if the new x5 come sout next october the 2 year lease will give me 1 whole year for them to fix it, the 3 year lease will give me 2 years(thats to long) is it possible to do a 2 year lease with 3 year option or something?

1- The payment will likely be less because the first year or two have the most $$ depreciation. 2- You have to pay taxes on the full value of the car. If you add the average of the cost of taxes over 24 months, it would be higher than if you take it over 36 months. It is another year that you would not need to pay those bloody taxes! |

It is only wise if you want to spend about another 25% on the lease payment. That is up to you. Depending on which model you are looking at and the options you may be able to spend that money wiser and 3 years is not a long time for a car you love. If on the other hand you hate the car than 2 years may be too much. It is up to you. Leasing really isn't a great deal for some people and for others it is just right. 3 years is definitely going to give you the best payment but if you don't care about the payment than go 2 years or better yet go 1 and then you can get the MY07 style the day it comes out.

I have heard some rumors that BMW is plannig to reveal the new X5 at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2006. So if they do that it will give people a chance to still buy the existing X5 if they do not like the new X5 design, or wait for the new X5 if they like the new design.
