Toolkit

Hi - I've just bought a UK spec 2003 3.0d - can anyone tell me/show me what the toolkit should look like?

The car came with a very small pouch containing BMW screwdriver, spanner, and wheel nut remover. I'm sort of thinking there should be more to it than that (although these all looked brand new and like they should be there). If anyone has a pic. I'd be grateful.

Post a picture of it, that sounds like the 'toolkit'.

Remember, it is a toolkit, not tool box.

I'll take a pic tonight - last car was an M5, and I was spoilt for choice with that one. I expected the X5 to have something equally impressive...

I drive an 02 E53 X5 3.0 euro . There is only a tool kit as you described as a small pouch. You have to buy more tools if you want to have the complete tool box.

I carry a G-Wagon tool kit. It's what a vehicle in this price range should provide as a tool kit!
I remember the great trunk lid tool kits in my old 2500/5 series back in the 70's/80's. The X tool kit pales into insignificance in comparison to either.

The tool kit that you described is what you get. I've added my own tools including items for off road adventures. There is a lot of room inside the spare tire rim and other crevices to store tools. My most useful addition is a leather-man type of multi-tool. You can have some fun building your custom set of tools.
