"Floppy" Rearview mirror help
My motorized folding mirrors are working fine, but my passenger side is decidedly "floppy" in comparison to my driver side. It does not fold under driving conditions or with wind resistance on the highway, but a bump from a person in the parking lot or in my garage will fold it in. Is there any way to tighten up this play in the mirror?

Yes you should be able to tighten the mirror. Do a search. There should be an article on retrofitting folding mirrors. Check that article for location of the screws...

Thanks. I did search, but did not find a suitable answer. I also read a retrofit article. I removed the cap on the bottom and tightened the 4 torx screws with no to little change. I then went further into the mirror and undid an additional four torx screws...this was basically the motor and gears. I lubed the gears and reassembled. No change. The plastic on the base seems to have a few detents molded into i, and they have a bit of wear...maybe that is the source of the problem, but I am not sure.
Any other help? |

I have the same problem with my driver's mirror and don't know how to solve it...
