Anyway, hope that gets it fixed for you.

I was thinking the same about the warranty, but maybe the service guy that inspeted didn`t put 2 plus 2 together ( humm 02 X5 but looks like and 05 front)

or maybe they don`t want to scarme away and want me to be one more custumer for them, because after all it does not cost the dealer anything because i`m sure they bill BMW USA for any rapairs that they do that are under the warranty. Plus they know that i have a choice of 4 BMW dealer on the area

well what ever the case was i`m so happy that hey didn`t say anything

sorry for the long post guys but i`m sooooo F***** un-lucky

So today i get a call from the dealer telling me if they could keep X for another day sice they changed the light control module and they still can`t find whats wrong with my xenons, that was about 3:30 pm and they had the x for 1.5 day already... i told them ok keep it for another day...

4:45 pm .. i get home from the office 5 minutes later i get a call fron the stealer and he sounds a bit mad, he tells me that the car had changes done to it ( he mean the 05 facelift) and that it would have helped if i had told them that it was and 02 with a 05 front, because now thay had spend 2 days to find this out and that the problem is that my lights don`t have the control module that goes under each light.

i told the guy that i didn`t think i had to tell then that and that i didn`t know there was a module missing from under each head light.
he told me that now they know what the problem is and that since it got coverted to 05 it it not under warranty i told him that i understand, so he tell me that it wold cost $1300 + tax to fix it ( they had to put the 2 module 1 under each head light) or that id i dont want them to fix it hey will only charge me for the diag....

so know i have to decide if i want them to fix it or just fix it my self
shit shit shit

Fix It yourself. I REPEAT Fix It Yourself.

Goto the part dept. and buy the parts (their help is free!). If you are unsure, buy the TIS/ETK BMW disks off eBay.

You might also talk to the guys at www.bekkers.com (they sell oem parts at a super discount). They may stock the control module.

It's all plug and play anyway. My Grandmother could do it.

Please send my normal fee of 10% of money saved, or $130 in this case to...

I was going to fix it my self but they were going to charge me 8 hr diag that they spent to find the problem, and the module cost $312 each and i need 2
so the guy told me that he wants me as client and that he was going to give me a break and only charge me about 5 hr of labor and do it for $1,100 + tax, so i told him to fixe it..

the labor alone was going to be like $600 and the parts $624 = $1,224
he figure that hey already had the everything taken apart so giving me a break will only increase the chances of me letting them fix it.

lights are fix and the bi-xenon are working

Kewl, Glad you got them fixed. Looks like the guy made you a deal.

That said, any dealer service department that didn't figure out what was going on with the '02 vs. '05 sucks in my opinion. These guys (we hope) are supposed to know these cars inside out. Why else would we use them. They always try to hold you hostage if mods were done. It's BS.

i notice that they only know things by the book, most times we moders know more than they do.
