Window Trim Discoloration

Looking at buying a used 2004 and the all the window trim is discolored like gasoline in a puddle. I read the link on some of the product people used, but how much would it cost to replace the trim all together? Trying to figure a cost to associate with this to deduct from my offer. Any help would be appreciated.

This is a simple fix - just get a bottle of Maquires cleaner-wax (liquid). Wipe all the trim down with a thin layer, let dry, then buff. I was amazed that in 30 minutes, I had all the black trim on my X5 looking as good a showroom condition! That rainbow discoloration is from some of the harsh chemicals that are used in the car washes. That "cherry smell" has to go somewhere - it turns the black trim into that nasty rainbow look! I hope this works out for you, let us know how it goes!

Thanks, I will let you know how it goes if I get the car. Through me for a loop when I saw the car, as the owner said it was in excellent condition inside and out, and it really is quite noticeable.

I have this too, just was never tried it out. I'll give it a try this weekend. I bought the wax in the small toothpaste looking tube. Meguires - I dont think I waited the 30 minutes though. Probably why. I still have it, I'll try again. Is that the one you're talking about - is that the liquid one?
