I've read through the posts here about mudflaps. Some folks love them, some hate them. My '03 X5 4.4i is white, and I can't stand how dirty it looks all the time. The rear side panels and rear bumper are a mess, even shortly after a thorough washing. It even seems to accumulate dirt on the rear edges of the passenger doors. It's a beautiful thing when fresh and clean, but a wreck when it's dirty. Pisses me off that it gets dirty just on the way home from the car wash. I have to re-wash it when I get home.
So I'm thinking the mudflaps will help reduce the amount of crap that splashes up. Is that right? Curious to hear from those of you who have them installed. Are they good for your X? Where is the best source? I don't have running boards, just the stock plastic trim that flares out a bit.
I live in rainy, sloggy Washington state, where people don't tan - they rust! Short of moving to a drier state, I don't think I have a lot of options about this.
Thanks, guys.
