Cool Dension Gateway 100 or DICE for iPod???

HI all,

Trying to decide on which one for my 2004 X5 3.0i. I think Dension because it has nice add-on's like bluetooth, AV Extender and CD changer retention. I have an 80GB video iPod and my wife has iPhone. DICE says it's compatible with both, not sure about the Gateway 100. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The Dension kits are not available in the US, however the DICE is fully compatible with both the iPhone and 80GB iPod. The changer wil be replaced with either kit.

Here's what you need:

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Trunk Interface)

Let me know if you should need anything else.

does this mean you must plug the ipod in the trunk near the dice adapter?

Ipod is up front with you. there's a new version out as well, of the DICE, more features. The spec dock is very cool for X5s.

The spec dock isn't needed. The new SILVERLINE kits lock out the Clickwheel completely, the iPod would be better in the center console or glovebox.

Question

Tom, since the clickwheel is locked on the Silverline, is there any way to access the video portion of the iPod via the steering wheels controls or head unit?

Full instructions come with the kits, the harness plugs directly into the CD changer harness in the cargo area. Simply route the cable to the desired location of where you would like the iPod to reside and you're complete.

Here's the kit you need:

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Trunk Interface)

The DICE utilizes the music specific area of the iPod only. However if you movies are placed into a Playlist, you would have immediate access to them.

The SILVERLINE does lock out the screen in DICE mode, you will not see video unless the dip switches are set to the ON position and kit is in Simple iPod mode.

We've set up a Q/A session here on the forum to answer all of your questions: http://www.xoutpost.com/bsws-mobile-e...-q-thread.html
