My Duralast is still under warranty, in fact it's only 9 months old. I don't know if I should take it back or recharge it.

Battery died on my twice in 12 hours. Had been sitting for two days in cold weather and it is more than 4 years old. Crazy thing was all electrical things worked, just wouldn't turn.

Getting a new diehard from Sears this morning.

Thanks!

Have you tried just giving it a top off and see it behaves afterwards ?

I forgot what it was..but there's something about battering being topped off after full drain, regardless of long drive/alt charge and all

Didn't even think of that.. Thanks!

I just went ahead and got a new one. The lights had been flickering as well once I would start it. After being on for a while they would steady. Just figured the battery had gotten to the end of it's rope.

Make sure you charge overnight at a 2amp slow rate.

Depends on the battery.
My Odyssey battery actually likes a high charge rate that trickles down.

Long story short, the dealer replaced a new factory battery over the summer under warranty but I already had an optima. There quick to blame aftermarket batteries for electrical glitches, so I swapped the battery when the alternator light came on. Of course it was the alternator and not the battery.

I could deliver it for free, if your not too far for $75. Im in zip 11580.

If I have an extra battery in my trunk while I'm away will the battery get discharged? I wonder.

If you replace the battery in your X5 be sure to hook up a jump pack to the connections under the hood when the battery is out of the vehicle. My service guys told me it is not good for the computer to go without any power. Apparently it looses some of the history of issues / maintenance. He said it was like of you did not shut your computer down properly and just turned it off.
