Xenon retro-fit....

Is this a dealer fit option? Or is it a during manufacture option only?

We love our X5, but the standard non-xenon bulbs are very dull.

There are a couple of articles under the lighting section on the front page that may help you. I know a couple people around here have done it.

Easy retrofit. The xenon headlights are not cheap, but they simply replace the existing halogens and you will have to buy a set of ballasts for each side as well. Other than that, simply take out the old ones and drop in the new ones. Four screws to loosen and they come right out...

they might install that easily, but the computer needs to be programmed for them to work as well.

Check this out: http://bonjoviguitar.bo.funpic.de/h7/

This guy has the MTEC Super White Bulbs installed and the pics compare them to the Philips Blue Vision. The car is a E46-Coupe-Facelift. The bulbs are great in my opinion and you donīt need to install the expensive xenons. The price for the MTEC-bulbs is about 40 Euro (2 pieces).
