Another satisfied Hoen customer.

I blew out a foglight bulb the other day so it was time to try the Hoen Xenonmatch H3 bulbs. They are far more reasonably priced than anything from PIAA at $29.00 a pair. Shipping/handling was a little steep but it was worth it.

I didn't find any pictures of a comparison between stock and the Hoen Xenonmatch so here is one. The driver's side is noticeably whiter and brighter than the passenger side with the stock bulb. You can also notice the difference while driving.

Me likey.

Added info: I discovered that both of my fog lights were quite loose with the screws having worked themselves out several turns. I have not previously messed with the fog lights. You might want to pop off the trim and check to see if you have some screws loose.

Looks real nice, Kev, mine will be here this week. I noticed the same loose screw issue with the fogs, seems that top clamp that they slide into can mess up the aiming also.

I bought directly from the Hoen website. If you can get a group buy together I should get a kickback. :p

I hope the top clip doesn't throw off the aim. I shined the fogs against my garage wall and they seemed aligned. I just made sure that the top clip felt engaged and snug, then tightened the screws.

There was minor up & down play with the top clip, could totally be a defect in my bumper.

Somebody told me that the yellow light is more practical in fog than the white light as the fog is also white. Is this true?

I have heard that is true. "Real" fog lights are yellow. White light tends to reflect off and create more glare. I think our "fog lights" are better used as auxiliary lighting to supplement the headlights.

Anyone else have contrary info?

I remember reading it in some publication a while back, which indicated that it doesn't matter much in the color of the light as long as it is located low to the ground. That's why you start seeing the dissapearance of the yellow fogs. Although, some still seem to believe that yellow light does make a difference...but that might just be a mental thing that people just can't seem to shake (just as the notion that bluish white seems brighter than ordinary white bulb without the bluish tint)

Very true. White lights suck in fog. Go to France where they have tons of fog and most of them only use Yellow lights.
