I picked up my X5 today after the ccv valve

and thermostat replacement. I cried UNCLE knowing my CPO was about to end next month I traded it in on a 3 series sedan. There might be another X5 in my future but it will not be until the end of this new lease in 2011.

Good bye E53.....

yes, cut your losses. I've had a new tranny replaced at a cost of $3,000 and now the oil separator issue is going to cost me $2,000 most likely. I may save a few hundred by going to an independent shop, but once it's fixed, I'm going to sell it for what I owe on it.

I bought it ('01 X5 4.4) for $27,500 at auction with 100,0000 warranty because I thought it was reliable car - it isn't. Don't get me wrong, its beautiful to drive, but just too expensive for me to keep up.

Looking at Toyota/Lexus.

Watch out for those lexus automatics. Get a warranty or buy CPO.

to all of you that are changing the crankcase due to cold weather, bmw has a new and improved one only for cold weather, but i just find out that the one that are being repleased by dealer are the same old one, you have to ask for the cold weater pakage, if not the vent valve froze again.
