i wonder if itr right to change the gas filter every 80.000 miles as this was said to me .

It can't hurt. Fuel filters clog up and restrict flow over time. Sometimes its 80k, sometimes its less. It depends on the fuels you are using, but 80k is a good range. Eventually you will notice a loss of power because of the filter not allowing enough fuel up to the engine when the pump demands it.
Some people change more frequently than that, but 80k is a good number. Not too early, not too long, IMO for normally driven vehicles.
