New X5 Owner!

Hello,

Just picked up a 2004 X5 3.0 6MT ( dark gray with tan leather interior) this evening with CWP, PP, rear climate package and xenons. All I can say is wow! I thought the 3.0 litre was going to be sluggish, but with the 3.0 coupled with the 6 speed manual, the X can really go!

I've always wanted an X5, even way back in 2001 when I bought my 330. A couple years ago, I bought a E30 325es to keep the miles off the 330. She is (was) a great car, but she's getting weak, so I caved in and bought the X.

I'll post pics tomorrow morning. Even though I'm broke now, I'm so happy to finally have an X in the garage.

Cheers,
Dan

We did the exact same thing you did except I went for the 4.4, it took a bit of trying to put the wife in a sport utility again. She has only driven SUV style vehicles for the past 12-14 years. She was ready for a car, but I just got a new GT stang and a car was out of the question for her because we have to tow our boat at times. So we tried about every line of SUV made, when she sat in the X-5 and drove it, she was sold..........and has been happy ever since. I actually like it better than her, but she drives it most of the time.

If only with the 4.4i model came with a manual transmission

I only wish that I could find some vehicle history from the previous life she had. Even though it was a BMW lease return (yikes), more than likely, some, if not all of the maintenance wasn't performed in a timely manner. So, I'm going to start with the basics....fluid changes and a tune-up.

Finally, I did a search, but could not come up with much on the Bluetooth thing. Since it's a 10/04 build X (and also found a Bluetooth Passkey PK card with the manuals) date, where can I find more info on the bluetooth setup?

Ok...here are a few pics. Keep in mind, she's not presentable yet. I need to claybar the paint and give her the Zaino treatment inside and out. First thing today is a complete oil service. The oil looked ok, but wanted to change it for peace of mind. Luckily, I have a spare filter from my 330

So far, I've been please with xoutpost.com If I can be of any assistance to those with other Bimmers, such as the E30 and E46 3 series (troubleshooting, maintenance), I'll be more than happy to lend a hand

Welcome. It just keeps getting better. I love my 01' more now than when I got it. Nice color combination.
