Blitzsafe adapter question..

Greetings:

This has been bugging me a bit.

I have successfully used a Blitzsafe adapter so I could keep the CD Changer in the trunk and add XM Radio in my wife's 04 325 Ci Vert.

While I am definitely NOT an electrical engineer, I have tried to understand the wiring on my 06 X5 (with Nav no DSP), and cannot for the life of me understand why it would not work on my SAV.

Since I have NAV, I have the darn cassette player behind it, and most of the integration solutions for adding XM (through AUX) and/or Ipod, I have to elimate the CD Changer. So not looking for suggestions...just why it doesnt work.

Can someone explain to me in lay terms what is different between the 2 vehicles wiring that would cause it not to work in the X5?

Thanks and Happy New Year to all..

Ed
