Another eBay item...Running Boards

Anyone have these??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-B...em350012887616

Buyer has great feedback...

Look much easier to install than the OEM boards.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

JCN: The same seller has something he calls "wholesale version" that has an X5 logo etched in at the end of the board. They were $390 shipped, which was much lower than OEM. The price savings plus X5 logo plus easy install persuaded me to go for them, so I just bought pair. They are on their way to me now. Ask the guy to send you a pic; he did that for me. GBG

GBG,

Thanks for the info. I'm going to look into them right now. Are you planning to install yourself? Do you know if it's very hard?

Thanks for all of the info.

JCN:

The install is supposedly very easy. I'm told it takes about 30 minutes, but I haven't tried it yet because the boards haven't arrived yet.

The boards on jelvisw.com say that the boards are installed with 3M adhesive, is that strong enough to support a trying to wash your sunroof standing on that? I think I might go with the screws...

Definitley use screws! The boards I bought recommend a few screws that screw directly into the stock plastic running boards.
