4.4i Wont start!

I have had the 4.4i at my house in NY and it has been sitting since August. I knew the battery was dead and put a charger on the battery(which is new this past July) for about an hour to give it a charge. Then I put a Jump Pack on it to jump it and nothing happens. No clicks, not turning over no nothing. I know the X5 needs quite a bit of juice to crank it but everything is powered up good. Xenons on full bright so there is power. Any idea why the engine is not cranking?
Thanks.

Simply charge it longer. Even my beater Lexus ES300 needed more juice than a jump pack could provide to start. I had to leave a charger on for a few hours, and start it with the plug-in charger, and that is in Hawaii weather.

"beater ES300" LOL

I bought a jump pack as well. Not worth it, try using another car if you can, or do like Islands52 says, leave it on for a few hours.

Try using your valet key, sounds like its not catching the transponder signal from your regular key.

If its not a bimmer its a beater!

previous "beaters"

this one was a little extreme, I admit.

The key with the buttons has a kind of rechargable battery in it which charges in the key cylinder as I understand. So if your X has been sitting parked for long so have the keys, killing the battery in it.

The grey valet key does not use a battery.
To turn off the abs and other lights......
#1 Start the engine....
#2 Turn the steering all the way to the left and then all the way to the right.

Im not sure about the trans failsafe. Hopefully it will go away soon.
