Control Arm Bushing?

Quick question.

Dealer says control arm bushings are cracked and have play. want $800 to replace.

The bushings itself is cheap. I plan on DIY this repair. The entire control arm isnt that much more.

X5 has 63k miles.

Should i do just the bushings? or better to replace the control arm as preventive?

thanks
franklin

if you have mechaincal knowledge do it yourself. You will save big and learn while you do it! just replace the bushings, not the whole arms, no point to do the whole arm unless they are craked or bent? good luck with the repair!

replace the whole arm. you won't need a press and the ball joint on the control arms wears out too so replace the arm.

the whole arm is probably more expensive but less work. Or the bushings are more work less money. your choice?
