Hard wire passport 8500

Want to hard wire passport 8500. Need to know what cord I need to buy.Have a few more questtion if some one has install lately.

You will need to buy a hardwire kit. I believe that Escort sells one. Here are the directions for the install.

Thanks I looked on ebay and they sell the wire . I also looked at the instuction that you sent. The wire on ebay is 6 ft long and suppose to be run to the fuse box. The instuction you sent don't say anything bout that so I am not sure of what to do. Seems like in the instruction that you wire in to the wires for the garage door opener. I guess I just don't understand exactly what needs to be done.

Wiring into the fuse box is the correct method. But most of us take the shortcut and just tapped into the garage door opener. My V1 has been wired up this way for almost 4 years now and it hasn't been a problem of any sort.
