transmission problems

I have a 04 4.4 thats currently in the shop because the trani has been slipping. this is the 2nd time its in the dealer for the same problem. the 1st time they flashed or reprogramed the trani and that did not fix the prob. they just called and told me they ordered the valve body or what BMW calls the mechatronics. It has to be installed and programed and test driven for 30 miles. If this doesnt work she says I will possibly need a transmission assembly. she also said the trani comes in multiple components , and for a rebuild they have to order this part anyway. Has anyone had this problem? and does anyone know exactly what the valve body or mechatronics is?? sorry for anymistakes I made this is my 1st post. thanks in advance.
