I did it over the weekend without using the pictures. It's actually very easy...just a little time consuming due to the number of bolts/nuts. The covers come off easily. The coil packs are also easy to remove. Just make sure you're careful with the coil pack connectors and ALWAYS hand start the new plugs so you don't cross-thread them. And use anti-sieze on the threads.

Overall I'd say this is a "2" on a scale of 0-10, with 10 being most difficult.

I did mine a few weeks ago also with the help of this thread.
The x drives sooo much smoother now...acceleration is peppy...steering wheel has no vibration whatsoever at idling.
Loving my x5 all over again...

is it really?i kinda just tightened mine so they were tight but didn't try to tighten it to the point where i break it.i ended up breaking a 10mm bolt for the ignition coil cuz i was tightening it too much lol
