30 mpg 4.4 - Page 3

I use the miles divide by tank fill up and in winter I average 14 mpg(50% city, 50% highway). In the summer I can get it up to 18 mpg easily. Accelerating pretty hard both times.

I only use premium 93 octane. I'm going to try doing it the old fashion way like mister suggests, maybe it's not that bad.

So I guess I shouldn't complain about the 12.1 I'm averaging in my '02 4.6; sometimes I actually see the needle move.....

i'd give up 1.6 mpg for 60 ponies

The other thing to consider is whose blend you are using. Some people blend in a bit more ethanol, and with that, down go your numbers.

My fiance rarely drives on the highway. Work is about 3 miles up the road from our home. Averaging 10.3 mpg

the only way my 4.4 is seeing 30 mpg is if im going down hill with a south wind on the back of a trailer being pulled by a hybird

I don't get when people nickle and dime their X... I just enjoy the hell out of mine. I dont try to squeeze a few miles on my gas consumption.

With gas at less than $3.00 a gallon why skimp?

Funny but posts like this remind me that I should check the consumption on mine once in a while. I have never paid attention. As long as it doesn't break I'm happy.
The gas is cheap, and I really appreciate it every time I come back from Europe where to fill up an Opel Corsa (Honda Fit type) I spend around $130. $50 to fill up my X5 is close to nothing.
