I knew what it was buying when i bought it and i never tried
to talk myself into thinking it was something else.
That; IMHO, would have been delusional.

Actually I was curious about the difference from the older tech vs. new perspective. I have owned 15 BMW's and the X5 was the best all around BMW. Quick, Fun, Hauls stuff etc.

I do mostly city driving and I'm no leadfoot but my 4.8is is not getting as good a mileage as some of the figures posted above. Frankly, like Stalker, I don't really pay attention either.

This is in the Aus scale but i get 15.2 L per 100KMS in my 02 4.4

I have 17k miles on mine, it's avg about 14.5 mostly highway driving with an average speed of around 40 mph (which I believe is pretty high)
