First Steps...

I just got this 2005 X5 4.4i two weeks ago. I am making "baby steps" with the modifications, mostly because I like most of the vehicle so much already!

I am waiting on some ACS aluminum pedals via eBay, and already got a cargo net and a few other little things.

Today, I got in my "Rear Bumper Step Protector" (part no. 82 11 0 029 671). The installation took 10 minutes, and looks pretty good, if I must say so myself.

I have been reading all your posts voraciously, and appreciate all of you sharing your thoughts and suggestions for us "newbies". Any other "must haves" you would suggest for a new owner?

The chrome/aluminum gauge rings are a quick and easy mod that I think kicks ass. I'd also recommend the Xenonmatch fogs from Hoen. Enjoy that new ride!

I was already thinking about those. Do you have a suggestion, other than surfing eBay, for those? How can I make sure they will actually fit my model?

Same seller, same rings that I bought. If you run into any trouble putting them on, let me know.

Look at these..They do not require glue...they snap in place and look really good. I have purchased 2 sets from him already for my X5s.

How would you rate the level of difficulty to put these rings. Is it difficult to remove the instrument panel and open it? Thanks

I am also looking at the chrome tail light trim pieces, such as this on eBay.

What does everyone think of this? Any changes in the tail lights for 2005? I would really hate to buy something off eBay that doesn't fit, and be stuck with it.

I like those and they will work. Some might think it is too bling bling, but ignore them, for they know not what they say.
