Shudder on acceleration, SES light - didn't last

Was headed to work this morning on the highway, X was driving fine. Went to pass a car and when I hit the accelerator, the X shuddered - felt like I was driving on rough pavement. SES light comes on. I make it to my exit and pull into a gas station. Get out of the X to look around and listen - nothing. Look under the hood - nothing. Get back in, SES light is gone. Did not happen again the rest of my trip (~ 40 miles).

Any idea what this might have been??

Any oil leaks? or leaking anything?

Not that I noticed - will check at lunch time today. Forgot to mention the shuddering felt like it was coming from the backend.
