Seems like you have no NAV right now and you are doing a virgin NAV retrofit. Its not for the faint-of-heart and costs around $4000.
You have to rip your X5 interior apart and put it back. See this article -->

Yes you can. But you have to remove your driver seat and your side panels, rear seat and panels and run the navigation harness all the way to the trunk. But no sense of installing the monitor if you dont have the following:

Radio Tuner,
Nav Computer Mk4
Nav Harness

Or if you do not require NAV, a BMW TV tuner can be used in place of the NAV computer. Regardless - the other items (including mounting brackets) are required.
