from ipod back to cd changer

hi chaps i have a 2004 x5 diesel its currently on the ipod selection if you go into cd mode and wont play cds,

how do i get it back to play cds, is it a DIY job or do you have to get it recoded back to cd???

please help....

do you have nav or business radio?

when you say cd, are you referring to the single disc player in the stereo headunit or the cd changer in the rear?
