Winter Tires/Rims for a 4.6/4.8 ????

My local dealer is telling me that my preferred choice style 69's are not listed as approved rims for a 2003 4.6. I like LeMansX5 set up with the replica 18 inch style 87's but I found a set of inexpensive used 69's on ebay... I know I am not the only 4.6/4.8 in this forum, what are other folks doing for winter in the northern climates... will the 69's fit over the front calipers?

1) yes they fit, although they are not approved.

2) i have OEM style 87s i might be selling depending where i move. i would wait a little longer as you'll see a bunch of winter tire/rim specials (used and new) popping up everywhere in oct-nov.

i have a 4.6is.
