Oh dear, your tow hitches are not the best looking accessory . I had one fitted today at Indespention, its a trailer & towing company. The towbar is a WITTER detachable, comes with two keys. The mounting bracket & electrical socket are completely hidden by the centre blanking plate,no cutting was required. Took the fitter 2hrs 40mins to fit & the warranty on the towbar is for the lifetime of the vehicle. I'll post some pictures in the morning.

Towbar/Tow hitch

Here are some photo's,the towbar housing & electrical socket that were fitted yesterday are completely hidden by the plastic bumper blanking plate, which makes for a lot tidier job. No cutting of the bumper either.

I wouldn't be happy either. But it can be cured though you might have to get creative with the bracket shape. This is why I went with the factory parts- the hitch was a piece of cake to install, the wiring laid out nicely, and the plug bracket bolted to the hitch for a clean installation.

No. Have you heard about any transmission issues caused by towing? I haven't.
