ok...i dont plan to change anything here...actally its probably not popular amongst the real output power freaks but i do like the auto compared to the manual...i have a automatic mb w116 1974 and an auto cadillac 1980 swb fleetwood with the 6.0 engine...these arnt exactly power autos...but I understand that a manual gives more freedom to use the power a chosen veichle has....hence my540 with 286 bhp and whatever amount of 100s of pounds of torque...but all in all i prefer the automatic...drift is a thing reserved fo manual but other wise all the positives are on the auto side...considering my daily driver needs its a 100% the automatic for me!

I got my '03 4.6 a year ago this Feb with 58K I now have 88k. The only reason I bought it with that many miles was because it was CPO'd. Im glad I did because it has had almost 15,000.00 worth of warranty work in one year.
It is an awsome vehicle to drive but it can get pricey if you dont have warranty. I traded in an '01 4.4 with 150k that never had the problems that the 4.6 has had. Both have the cold start knock which drives me crazy. I have not had enough time to search on this site for the knock concern. I have always been a sports car nut but after driving an X for five years now I cant see any reason to drive anything else as a daily driver.

Jesus Christ! Where are you guys getting these problem 4.6s? I have had Amadeus (my X5) for 5yrs. and the only problem I have had is the dead pixel issue (I really hope I didn't just jinx myself). My baby goes like stink, and when parked, people always ask if it is new (they can't believe it when I tell them its an 02).

I will admitt however, all this talk about the oil separator and ccv has got me wondering....... I am coming up on 38k miles, so it is hard to believe I hafta replace that stuff this soon........

hahhahaha...thats good...I think that I understand U...I could just imagine myself on a 540 forum(since I own one for 5 yrs)and people shaking about what would happen if some shit would happen..well what i would tell them that i would just have to repair and pay which is exactly what i do with my car...i dont get histerical over what happens to my car but cover costs and drive the ultimete driving experiance all over the place...i am not afraid...so the problem lies in the fact that when one goes for a different car and decides to buy he would prefer that the least that the car would be is an astounding performance etc etc...no costs just pure fun...blablabla...buying a new car one tends to go a bit over budget and so suffers a major conciousness problem...like i wrote before..it all comes down to how much can YOU afford...thts all...xx$ is alot and at the same time nothing to others...when i read the threads about how guys wait for their dream delivery from the dealer I am happy for them but it has nothing to do with my situation where i have to decide for a used veichle and taking the risk that all will fall apart and my meagre budget will suffer a air/ground pounding...all who go for used veichles will understand what im talking about while those who can afford it will never think about this problem since all is under warrenty...how lucky...im not crying about my situation but just know that certain things are a fact for me and that ill hAVE to pay to ride my ride...so a smile to all those who know what I feel...and any comment like "if you cant afford it dont do it" is out of place cause ill know best what i cant afford...believe me! ill know...

no use gettin sore...cheers

After owning a Ferrari for the past few years, I am hoping that I dont have to see the dealer anymore than when I need to get it serviced, now that car was at the mechanics more than it was with me. (

Still miss it though, but am having loads more fun with my IS, more gadgets too. Cayenne never really did it for me and the V10 is hard to find.. reckon, just go for it. Whats life if we save the pennies.. enjoy it whilst we can, cos at the end you dont give a sh*t how much you saved on servicing.. its the fun we had.

Whistle

well this it guys...

i've decided to go for it'''

like U said i test drove it and well to say the truth it was fenomenal..wow...I like loved it...everything was the way I feel I want it...accceleration speed balance torque power stability agiliy curves and all..a big wow and I ended up with no negatives concening the fuel consumpton since what I saw was a m5 performance vechicle...and the owner went for a DISABLED ALL SAFETY SYSTEMS performance drive through the neighbourhood. . .and well it was suburbia so the run was like a private race course very FCKing fast and hold on to survive experience...it was an awsome show how this car is just a M on a suv basis...I was thrilled..this was way beyond my experience...my previous was a 2004 grand cherokee limited which compared to this was like...well no way to compare them...the jeep is good outdoors but the bmw is a racer on high awd and is more to my taste...post pictures if and when I buy...cheers y'alll
