-Yes, if going on a E53 type 72.5 mm size wheel bore hub...

-Will have to recall the physics of rotational loads; I might have been asleep in class, for that part. I think they act like a compressible 'coaster' or 'washer', if that translates. A brief link below, not hugely informative. JCL and the other mavens
may have a better definition.

Ok, i've got hold of 4 x 18x8.5 2010 E70 rims and tyre.

Any one has a a guide/photo of how to replace the old Hub rings and put the new one on?

Also problem is .... my spare tyre will still be an E53 wheel, although all 4 tyres on the E70 wheel i've got now are Run Flat but still, eventually sometime down the track i will need to use my spare tyre and how is this going to work?

You need to put the hub centric ring onto your 72.6mm wheel hub, and then put the new wheels on. You cannot replace the wheel hub with 74.1mm wheel hub.

If I understand your situ correctly, you have an E53 with the usual ~72 mm hub. You are going to put on E70 wheels using hub centric rings; that's fine.

Your current/oe spare wheel tire combo should still fit right on your existing 72 mm hubs. Rotationally, it should be very close to those E70 wheels; close enough to get you home/service, etc.

would 18" Styling 131 8,5x18 will fit on E53 4.8IS or need modifications?

The BMW Style 99 wheel listed is listed as the "winter" wheel for the e53 4.8is and it is an 8x18 w/40mm offset wheel. I'm sure that the e53's Style 131 wheel that is 8.5x18 w/48mm offset shouldn't present an issue.

The extra 1/2" width and 8mm offset difference falls within range of the e53 wheel's specs. You should also see that 18" winter tire sizes are listed on your drivers' door jamb tire pressure chart and in the owners manual.
