Arrow PDC-Can it be done

I dont like the PDC on X5, so i was thinking is it possible to replace original PDC with aftermarket one that shows detailed info about every sensor, then connect it to a reae view cam input and we could get E60 look on the PDC, whitch is mutch more helpfull

Am I the only one here that thinks X5 PDC is not that functional?

seems that way, haven't been a lot of complaints about it.

I might be all wrong, but how do you know if the object on the left is closer then the one to the right ? OK i get signal that i am close to something but where?, do i go more to the left or right to pass?
As i said i might be missing something but i think that it is as important to know whitch side of car is closer to the object

You see it in your mirror as you begin to back up before you get close enough for it to beep!

I have no problems. I would be able to tell which car/wall was closer.

It's not like PDC has been around for 100 years. How long have you been driving? 99% of the vehicles driven every day successfully back up and park without PDC.

I agree the E53 PDC is the same basic system as the first to emerge on BMWs in the early-mid '90s E38 and not the best when dealing with tight spaces. However it's only a supplement (not a replacement) to your own eyes/ears and general awareness as pointed out in the owners book.

I believe you would be better off adding a backup camera rather than exchanging a working PDC for another that still wont be as good as a camera. This will be far cheaper easier and better if you aready have the NAV screen. That's the solution I will be doing soon.

That is what i was thinkingto do, and then i have sean backup cam with sensors somehow integrated, so you se where you are going and att same time you se distance to objects, so i was thinking if it would be possible to integrate this to the car, if not i will definitly go with the cam
